We support  the Henri Warnich Foundation

Heuningland Tours supports The Henri Warnich Foundation (HWF) and Huis Henri - the only care facility in South Africa exclusively for adults living with Pradar-Willi Syndrome.

Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) is a complex genetic condition that affects every aspect of a person’s life. It is most commonly known for the fact that people with PWS become obsessed with food anytime from about 2 years old. Unless they are strictly managed, they will over-eat (known as hyperphagia), become obese and have a variety of associated medical problems.

They never reach a state where they satisfy their cravings or hunger, because their brains never send the message that they are no longer hungry.
Their mental and physical abilities are impaired and even though they become adults in age, they will never be able to live independently.

It is important to note that PWS is caused as a result of a genetic abnormality and is not a disease that can be medically treated.
